Lone Star Quilt
These are the pictures of my first quilt. Of course I would chose
an extremely hard quilt pattern like the Lone Star Quilt for my first quilt! All of the
diamond pieces were traced & cut out one by one & the majority was hand pieced because I
couldn't quite get the hang of it with the machine at first. After I finished this
quilt I learned about a wonderful little tool called a Rotary Cutter & the time saving trick of strip cutting.
I got the hang of machine piecing and the last 2 or 3 points were machine pieced. Whew!
This quilt was all hand quilted in a hoop and was given to my mother for
her birthday. I used outline quilting around the diamonds and stencil designs for the blank
corner squares & border.
